Belarusian taekwondists return from Croatia with 5 medals

     In the period from 10th till 13th of November 2015 the 4th European Universities Taekwondo Championship was held in Opatija (Republic of Croatia). Belarusian student-athletes achieved convinced success winning two silver and three bronze medals. 

   150 athletes from 16 European countries represented 48 higher educational establishments in these international competitions. 

   8 student-athletes from five state universities competed in the name of our country: Konstantsin Yermak, Vladislav Statkevich, Alina Kryshneva, Yana Piletskaya (Belarusian State University of Physical Culture), Pavel Michnevich (Belarusian National Technical University), Andrey Svirsky (Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics), Ilya Kokshintsev (Vitebsk State University named after P.Masherov), Yevgeniy Geydel (Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus).

   Upon the competitions Belarusian student-athletes took the following positions in the fixture list:

  •    2nd place – Ilya Kokshintsev (up to 54 kg) (Vitebsk Center of Olympic Reserve, Sports Club of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, coaches – S.Smychkov, Y.Smychkova);
  •    2nd place – Konstantsin Yermak (up to 87 kg) (Mogilev Oblast School of Supreme Sportsmanship, Sports Club of Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, coaches – I.Romashkevich, A.Lihodiyevsky);
  •    3rd place –Vladislav Statkevich (up to 74 kg) (Republican Center of Olympic Reserve for Combat Sports, Sports Club of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Sports Club of Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, coach Y.Suhovitskaya);
  •    3rd pace – Andrey Svirsky (up to 58 kg) (Vitebsk Oblast Center of Olympic Reserve for Combat Sports, Sports Club of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Sports Club of Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, coaches – S.Smychkov, Y.Smychkova);
  •    3rd place – Yevgeniy Geydel (up to 63 kg) (Children Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve №3, Dynamo Sports Club, coach R.Levkov).

   Alina Kryshneva (up to 54 kg) and Pavel Michnevich (up to 80 kg) won the 5th stage and Yana Piletskaya (up to 67 kg) took the 7th place.
