    Sports which are promoted in specialized training and sports facilities of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus :

    Brief information 

    Undertaken by the organizations of physical culture and sports consistent work for 2008 will strengthen the capacity of specialized training and sports facilities. Currently, this centers for physical education and sport students and students of the Ministry of Education coordinate and direct the activities of 150 specialized training and sports facilities, 66 of them are the Sports School, 76 Youth and 4 Youth PFD, RSHVSM athletics, handball RTSOR, RTSOP Football and RTSOP for water-skiing, in which 63,375 students engaged in sports (in sports schools - 62,229 people)..

    Educational and training work with students in special education and sports institutions has 2,873 trainers, 1,561 of them full-time (55,3%).

    Among full-time coaching and teaching staff of Youth and Sports School is 48 coaches honored the Republic of Belarus, 149 coaches of the highest category, 427 coaches of the first category and 391 coach the second category, representing 63.6% of the number of full-time coaches. In 2008 the average annual funding allocated per pupil special education and sports facilities has grown in comparison with 2007 by 34,7%).

    In sports schools 46 kinds of sports have been developed, including 28 summer and 7 winter Olympic, 11 non-Olympic sports.

   As a result of participation in the 2008 Belarusian athletes at the World Championships and European Youth, junior, youth representatives of the sports schools education system of the 202 medals won 72 (in 2007 - 56 medals).

    Thus, one-third of the winners of the continental or world championship, which contributed to the consolidation of the Republic of Belarus as 20 of the strongest countries in the world sporting the team ranking - is a pupil of the educational system. Most pleased with their achievements at the World Championships and European Junior Julia Otchenashko - Sports School № 7, Minsk, Catherine Valyuzhenets - Sport School № 1 g.Smorgon (Sambo, 1 st place), Vanessa Kolodinsky - Youth № 3 Bobruisk ( wrestling freestyle, 2 nd place), Vitaly Belka - Youth g.Logoysk, Taras Valko-SDUSHOR Bobruisk, Sergei Zhirkov-Sport School № 1 g.Mosty (rowing and canoeing, third place), Edward Meehan - Youth g.Lunenets (athletics, third place), Marina Slutskaya - Sports School № 7, Minsk (judo, 2 nd place), Jaroslav Kardos - Berezovskaya Youth (Greco-Roman, 2 nd place).

    In accordance with the Development Program, youth sport and the training of sports reserve and national teams of the Republic of Belarus for 2006-2010, funding for performance indicators reported by using funds provided to state and local budgets for maintenance and development of relevant industries and regions.

   The most important targets to achieve the expected outcomes are:

  • coverage of training in specialized training and sports facilities not less than 5,9% of secondary school students, including at least 4.6% in rural areas
  • improvement in the holiday period of not less than 45,9% of students of specialized educational and sports facilities
  • Preparation of the number of pupils Youth, Sports School at least 17,225 athletes II, III and junior categories, 1,390 candidates for master of sports and I category, 112 masters of sports and world-class athlete
  • transfer of students from specialized educational and sports facilities in the Olympic Reserve School 361 athletes in the Sports School, ADCs, PTC - 67, sporting clubs, team sports - 77
  • acquisition of domestic and national teams on sports promising young athletes and high-class athletes in a number of 136 (members of the Tax Code) + 175 (trainees) + 229 (reserve), total - 540 (30% of the overall plan) people
  • winning the World Championship and European summer and winter sports in 2006, 35 medals, 2007, 56 medals in 2008 - 72
